Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson joined the Arizona State University Police Department in May of 2008 after spending 22 years with the City of Mesa Police Department in Arizona in a variety of assignments, including Sergeant (patrol, jail, bike unit, community action, advanced training, School Resource Officer supervisor & Criminal Law lead instructor), Detective and Forensic/Composite Artist.  He currently serves as Chief of Police over the Patrol Division of the department.  Michael received a Master of Administration/Leadership degree from Northern Arizona University and a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University.  He still actively assists ASU PD and other local agencies with composites.  Michael received training in composite drawings, two dimensional reconstruction and three dimensional reconstruction from the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, as well as the Scottsdale Artists School in Scottsdale, Arizona.  During his career, he has conducted many composite interviews for several high profile cases throughout the Phoenix Metro Area.  He has also completed drawings for the FBI on numerous occasions throughout the State of Arizona. To contact Michael, please send him an email at Michael.L.Thompson@ASU.edu
