Dorothy has been interested in drawing people since the age of 7 years old. She worked as a Policewoman in Wyandotte, MI from 1953 until 1957. In 2006, she volunteered as a Sketch Artist for the Apache Junction Police Department and is available for that work, as she continues to volunteer in their Property and Evidence Department.
Her background in sketching, painting and teaching has been life-long. In her working career as a stenographer, secretary, bookkeeper, accountant and in newspaper and radio, she’s found ways to use art. She drew the “Weather Dog” that was featured on the front page of the Detroit Times newspaper daily back in 1949-1952.
